Post Body

This was a journey, honestly. Somehow I experienced two "First times" with First Law. These were the first books I read in English."The Blade Itself" was the first physical book that I bought. I started reading BSC and the next day the movie was announced, and that was really amusing but not only that, this will be the first time I'm a fan of something and it's becoming a movie. Hopefully, this won't we one of these "annoyed fan" experiences haha.

Anyway, about the book. To whoever commented "lol" to my previous post, bravo, sir, couldn't have said better myself. I still don't understand why the incest plotline? It hardly mattered. Was it there to just gross people out? I mean it worked, but still. All I'm saying I could've done without it.

There's something about Abercrombie and plot twists. Like he gets me with the weirdest ones. I spent a lot of time speculating who the creepy doctor from the start might be, maybe someone working for Glokta for some reason, someone from the Union who appeared in the first trilogy and I forgot about him, or someone who would matter in the later book, and , I kid you not, every chapter a character appeared I thought of the possibility of him being that doctor, but apparently I never even suspected Shenkt. And I was the one complaining about Jezal not figuring out the Sulfur's mismatched eyes situation.

Shivers broke my heart. Poor fella, so optimistic, always trying his best and then life happened. I don't even know. Is he gonna appear somewhere else, or is this just it, his whole story?

This will sound stupid but Friendly felt like a Jojo character. Super weird, but weirdly nice.

Cosca's on a thin line, balancing between likeable sneaky and despicable sneaky. Dude put all of his skill points into luck and it shows.

And I have no idea what to think of Monza. She got better without Benna's influence, that goes without saying. And she'll have a kid. I really hope Joe won't name the kid Benna, I really, really hope he won't. I guess he'll be of one the main character's of the second trilogy along with Jezal's kids?

So I heard that this is considered the best book in the series(idk how true this is tbh), and while I liked it I definitely liked BTAH better and LAOK about the same.

I hear "The Heroes" is about the north, and Gorst is on of the main characters. Is there any other returning characters? Dogman's in the capitol so I doubt he'll be there, so only Black Dow is there as a king(?) or chief. Is Logen in it? Or Shivers at least? Because so far I don't really care that much. I mean I'll read it at some point. I got the physical copy of "The Wisdom of the Crowds" (The only ones they were selling here were the first one and the last one), so I'm planning to read it all.

It’s a three day battle set in the North. Black Dow and Calder have a huge roll and so does Byaz and Gorst.

While not my favorite book in Joes world it is certainly some of Joes best writing and it is fun watching him grow as a writer.
