I'll delete this once I get the answer because it's probably super simple. I'm looking into farming Enzo and I see that for his Spiral Catalyst I can either get Amorphous 37 from Normal White-night Gulch Bio-Lab Infiltration which drops it 100% of the time and then open it in Pyromaniac Normal with a 38% chance. Alternatively I can do Hard Hadios Corrupted Zone Outpost which has a 25% chance to drop Amorphous 110 and a 10% chance of opening it for the Catalyst from the fusion reactor.

Is this just a case of some items need to be added to multiple things as filler when opened or to allow people to overlap what they're farming if they wanna grind multiple things at once?
