Playing the different characters, I love the effects and how certain elements are shown. I just wish there was more to it because things like water feel, no pun intended, very surface level. It's be so cool to make a trail of water as Valby then Viessa's ice trail creates a sort of "Deep Freeze" that slowly makes all the water into an icy path. You could even have Bunny running over the water to cause electric pulses to anyone who's inside of it. You could even just do it with the guns and make it so that a toxic enhancement makes Blair's shots have a more explosive poison type of thing.
As far as environments, aside from parkour (which could be better if the grappling hook allowed more of a free flowing swing than just a zip) there isn't much to the environment other than hazards. I like that Valby can stand on water in the world and not just water she creates for her passive to work. However, I'd love it if they took it a step further. Having Valby or Viessa using their water/ice to nullify the poisonous terrain while their abilities are activated. Getting a slight speed boost if you're stepping on Viessa's ice trail. Just a better way to play with the environment is all.
I know these are pointless mechanics to some people but when you have a game with elemental enhancements to weapons and characters that are categorized in elemental types, it just makes sense to me. The game doesn't "need" it and it's not a game breaking thing to not have it, but I thought it'd be cool.
