I have this weird view towards the show and the book. I don't feel the books are great. But the show sort of combines with the books to make them great. Like they overlap each other.

I think I like Holden and Naomi in the books much more. Love all the other characters in the show more. Especially the composite/ new character of Drummer.

I like most of the battles in the show more, except that in my memory I'm running content from the books like a secondary screen when I watch the show.

I mostly like the story structure of the show better than the books. It's like the show fixed a pacing issue of the books. But sometimes when I'm looking at the show I feel like it's not showing time and travel the right way and I'm reading into the show some timing from the books.

So does it make sense for people who have not read the books? Does it hold up?
