Question for Book Readers: Soren's Cookies (spoilers)

In Caliban's War, Bobbie Draper gets irritated by Soren apparently eating cellophane-wrapped cookies all the time, or so she thinks. When she brings it up to him he's confused at first, then when he realizes what she means he dumps the "cookies" into the recycler. So, what were they actually, and what was he doing that made it sound like he was eating? Something to do with his secret spy work no doubt, I'm just confused because we never find out what he threw away.
