I'm not sure if this has already been answered on the sub here before or not (my searches haven't yielded anything satisfactory. But what happens to Anderson Dawes? It seems like in Seasons 1-3 he's such an important character but he's only ever mentioned by name in Seasons 4-6. Even during the Ring arc of Season 3 he doesn't show up at all but is referenced heavily.

Does his character just not matter as much anymore by that point in the story? Did the actor simply not want to return and they didn't want to re-cast him? Feel free to mention book spoilers if anyone here knows better or maybe has some insight as to what happened with him. I was a big fan of his character. You would think he would have a lot to say and do during the entire Marco Inaros arc, right?
