The Dragon Prince was the show I needed when I needed it. It was the first show I watched when quarantine started, and I rewatched it over and over again after completing it. Rayllum was one of my favourite ships in television.
Then, nothing. For years. I didn’t even hear about the newest season until a few weeks ago, and now that it’s out, I’ve been putting it off.
Now that I’m finally here, watching the first episode, and I find myself confused. Was there always way too many jokes or is this new? Did I grow up, or did the show dumb down?
I realise that I’m only ten minutes in, but after seeing the consensus on this subreddit, I’m not sure I want to keep watching.
Does it get better, or should I just rewatch the previous seasons again?
