As long as developers are releasing fully fledge products using store bought assets isn't bad as a lot of indie developers may be able to code and set up systems but they don't have the artistic skills to make worlds and graphics. Nor do they have the money to enlist graphic artist to do this for their projects.
the issue comes in when the assets are strung together to make convincing but false products. I see lots of threads just complaining about asset flips and the game is nothing but store bought assets that's not the issue. the Issue is the game is fundamentally not what was advertised and isn't anywhere near the place it should of been released in.
Edit: this post isn't defending what Fntastic did here. it's defending store bought assets which other Developers(indie or otherwise who actually try to make games) use all the time for their projects. assets aren't a bad thing we should be witch hunting. Shitty developers who use them to scam customers with false advertisement and trailers should be hunted down and exposed.
