I was breaking down tank 3 for cleaning today. After taking some soft parts over to the sink for rinsing I went back to tank 4 to remove more parts.
Tank 4 wasn't empty. Tank 4 was a few days into pressure fermentation. When I undid the triclove holding a butterfly valve on, pale ale jetted out. Completely soaking me and making quite a mess of the bar (don't the tanks look nice behind the bar in a brewpub).
Luckily I had read about reattaching the valve in an open position on reddit! So only 1-2 kegs and the rest of my day was lost (mopping, scrubbing and wiping).
Time to drink a beer instead of wear one!
Nice work! Guaranteed you just saved future-me too.
