1) Bill Butcher and his Father - Billy’s nightmare sequence really underscored how abuse as a child can manifest itself in adults…bullies breed bullies…I believe by the end of this shows run, Billy’s end goal as a character will been to have shed his hatred for soups, reconcile with Ryan, and forgive himself for Lenny.
2) Homelander and his father Soldier Boy - Via Noirs heartbreaking past we come to find out how much of a bully Soldier Boy is to all those around them as his main super power is his ego, machismo, and old century values, which do not break. Up until this point we have been shown how much the same Homelander is to his absent father as the same abuses are forced upon all those around him. This type of generational trauma has been passed down genetically.
3) Mother Milk and his daughter - The tragedy befallen to MM at a young age has shown nothing but pain to MM, the audience, and most importantly his daughter as time after time she bears witnesssed to psychotic breaks and obsessions of her father. MMS end goal as a character will be to ultimately forgive, not soldier boy, but himself for the guilt he has carried for feeling as if he was responsible for the deaths of his family members.
