Maeve is alive! If she went live and showed she was alive! It would throw everything the public knows into question. She can’t just die or go missing afterwards because that would be suspicious. I keep thinking about this and honestly I need it explained logically within the confines of the story why they are not going in this direction? Maeve could say anything and many people will believe her! I mean if Vought can say someone’s dead and cover up the loss of their powers what else might they be doing? What she has to say plus Starlight it’s almost undeniable.

Maybe they’re thinking they have to physically defeat Homelander? I personally think turning people against supes first would be easier than going straight to infecting them with a fatal disease. Supes save lives everyday what doctors wouldn’t want to return the favor?
