I don’t know if it’s such an expected “shock” factor, my irritation with racial trauma for entertainment or both.
I was underwhelmed, not in a “this show’s so predictable” kind of manner, but in a “oh great, more racial trauma for my entertainment, how profound”, it’s not. It’s just bothersome. I sometimes think the way the show goes about dealing with things is not necessarily unique, raw and realistic but just backward and messy.
