I was just heartbroken in E07, obviously. I get that Carmen lost his cool, but like... that's only so striking because he has been so cool, so kind, polite, and level-headed the whole show. I feel like they set up early on that yelling/screaming/cursing is just...part of the job, and Carmen is special because he doesn't do that.
But the one time he does yell-- and it's general frustrated/overwhelmed yelling, not pointed abuse like Joel McHale's character-- it's treated like this terrible sin. Should he have yelled? Of course not. But that's how everyone else has been acting the ENTIRE show, but only Carm has to self-flaggelate about it.
Don't get me wrong, I can tell I'm a little biased -- I really feel for this character, I have info Syd doesn't, etc. But I thought they both really screwed up. They're friends, they should both apologize or both just "all good chef" their way out of it. I just don't really think he did anything that wrong.
