I think it’d be better to have a gay kid than a straight one

Obligatory would love the kid regardless but I was thinking about if I were to have preference on my kids sexuality what would they be and I came to these conclusions.

With daughters the decision was instant. Gay daughter>Bi daughter>Straight daughter

In a general sense I’d be less worried comparatively about the danger of abuse if my daughter with another woman than if they were with a man. I’d also feel more confident about handling the situation if it were to turn abusive. And it’d be great to not have to think about unwanted or sudden pregnancies and if they do decide to have kids if my daughter is the one who gets pregnant I’d still get the benefit of the family bloodline being continued.

Sons took some more thinking but the final conclusion was the same. Gay son>Bi son>Straight son

The thing that made daughters easy to choose was the prevalence of domestic violence and at first I thought gay male couples would high but after looking into it a bit it seems they have the lowest out of anybody so that’s a big positive. In fact the only negative is that if it became abusive I’d feel less confident about handling it but otherwise everything about daughters also holds true for sons. Less risk of sudden and unwanted pregnancies and they can also get a surrogate.

I don't want to have to deal with the fallout of my kid having to court a woman. Doesn't matter if I have a straight daughter or a gay son. I just don't want that level of drama on the premises.

But yeah gay male DV is pretty trivial. They just talk or bang it out.
