I'm bisexual, so I can see both perspectives. Here are some reasons why I think being gay (or bisexual) is actually better than being straight:
If you are fully gay, there is no chance of unwanted pregnancy. You can only have kids if/when you want to.
If you are bisexual, you have more potential partners to choose from. You also have more variety if you're not monogamous.
If you are lesbian, you have a lower chance of getting STDs. It is higher for gay men, though, so this basically cancels out.
It's probably much easier for gay/bisexual men to get sex than straight men. (I've heard straight men say that they wish they were gay for this reason lol.)
Gay people have more of a sense of community, I think, and they have gay pride. There are no straight pride parades, for example.
You can probably relate/empathize more to/with the same gender, so gay people probably have easier relationships than heterosexuals in general. I hear a lot of straight men complain about how women are complicated/dramatic, so gay men probably don't have to deal with that, and vice versa. A lot of straight women complain about how men are shallow/self-interested and only care about sex.
As a bi woman, a lot of guys seem to like bisexual women (probably because they like the idea of lesbian sex). It's probably the opposite for bisexual men, though, so this probably cancels out.
I think it goes without saying that I'm talking about places where being gay is legal and socially acceptable. I'm not talking about places like Saudi Arabia...

That just doubles the chance of potential rejections.

Don't task don't tell very much is very much real again in that case.
