Any suggestions on Thailand destinations suited to a first-time visitor who's basically a 62-year-old hobbit? I'm cheerful, round, and fond of life's small pleasures and simple comforts. I don't need thrills or night life, just the chance to appreciate Thai culture, enjoy nature, eat good food, and meet friendly people...preferably where I won't be surrounded by nothing but beautiful young people who make me feel like a fossil. I'm healthy and have no disabilities but I'm definitely more suited to beach strolls and moderate walks/hikes vs. climbing up mountains. Bonus points if there's an opportunity for Thai language lessons while I'm there.
