6mo multi entry and still got questioned about long stays by immigration
Post Body

I have the 6mo multi entry thai visa. Admittedly, I have stayed the max 60 day each time I've entered.

When presenting my passport to immigration at bkk airport, apparently a flag in the computer popped up and the lady said I would need to talk to her boss. She said it's unusual I stay 60 days each time I come to thailand.

She walked me over to an area on the right-most side of immigration. There another officer questioned me about what I was doing in thailand. I assured him I never work in thailand and I don't have a thai bank account. I truthfully told him about my prior travels the last time I was in thailand which included visiting CM, Pai, Phuket, etc. I insisted I was just there as a tourist. He nodded his head and said "ok. be careful. you need to be careful". Kept saying that a few times, and didn't really specify what to be careful about. He also said a new law changed in february 2016 and kinda implied this resulted in my current situation.

He looked friendly as he said it. He asked if I had a thai girlfriend and he took down her phone number. As a side note, another officer found this hilarious and was joking "He have thai gik. thailand gik. hahah" and both officers were laughing (didn't feel embarrassing or anything. It was mostly weird and funny to be getting grilled while another officer was having a laugh hehe)

Finally he brought me to an immigration booth where he stamped me in. I asked him what I should do the next time. He said I should always have an onward ticket booked and be ready to give my thai girlfriend's phone number.

Not sure what will happen if I exit and enter again. Do you think I'll be denied next time? Any discussion about this incident would be helpful, as well as similar stories. Thanks guys.

Edit: I also should mention I spend a week in HK before returning to thailand, and then on my second visa run I spent a week in the philipppines combined with 5 days in cambodia before flying back to bkk. Also, when the lady walked me to her boss I asked if I would have had the same trouble if I had the Thailand Elite visa and she said I would be fine with that visa.
