[MOD] Seeking input from women in this subreddit: What, if anything, can this subreddit do to help make you comfortable? Especially for single first time visitors.

As it stands, I don't have a lot of advice to give single women posting here outside of things to avoid. I've recommended in the past to either go alone (which can be scary in it's own right) or find other single women to go with, but not every woman has the sort of friend group where that's possible and meeting women online here isn't a much better alternative.

So I've thought about a couple of things that this community might be able to do improve things that I wanted to get the opinion on from women in the community as well as any other ideas.

First idea is to seek out women already familiar with Thad's to be vetted ambassadors of the subreddit that new women could connect with and have at least some assurance the people they are meeting are safe. Probably requiring verifying a real person at Thad's prior to being on the list.

Second idea, having some sort of munch for women of Thad's where women could meet others and find people to go with and vet each other in person. Probably led by a volunteer.

I recognize that as a man, I have a bit of limited insight into what we can do better for you, so any input from women would be appreciated.

Feel free to provide input privately via DM if not comfortable publicly, or via a throwaway account.

Thank you!

Thanks, I've updated the rule to now read:

Don't Post Any Information about other people. (No Missed Connects, stories, asking about others, etc...)

Respect people's privacy. It's okay, to talk about what generally happens at Thad's, but don't refer to any specific events.

I'll make sure to more strictly enforce it and please let me know your thoughts.

I remove/ban those comments when I see them, thank you to anyone who reports. Messaging me about anything sent in DMs will get them banned too.

I may start leaving up the comments rather than remove them and just leave a comment that the user was banned, that may help other offenders get the idea.
