Why magic needs rules
Post Body
This has been bugging me with a lot of Th3birdmans videos, but I thought about this again because of a comment on his most recent video. Magic needs rules because if it doesn’t then a writer can easily bullshit their way out of any situation. It also helps with world building, and if you don’t build the world your story is set in then there’s no point in writing a sci-fi or fantasy story. Look at the book Dune to see how much world building can enhance a story.
