1998 was the first year I played baseball myself and got a better understanding of the game. I got a late start as a player at 9 years old, but I remember going to a classmates game and I instantly fell in love and wanted to play. I'd tried all the other sports before that and failed miserably. Baseball was my only hope at becoming an athlete.

1998, I was locked in as a Rangers fan and Rick Helling, with his massive thighs, went out and led the league in wins with 20 that season. Became my favorite pitcher.
