Hey fellers !
I’m 23, and finally finally finally I have my first T appointment set up with Planned Parenthood next month.
However, I’m really torn on what method of testosterone would be best for me, and I also have some questions about going into my first appointment :)
Shots vs Gel - While I’ve never had horrible needle phobia and have always done well with getting vaccinations and the like, that was always with a doctor doing it for me. Sometimes i think I’d have no problem giving myself an injection ( I mean, I’ve given myself stick and poke tattoos and piercings, so if I can do that, surely I can give myself a shot? ) — but sometimes when I think about it, I get super anxious and uncertain. - I think more than anything I’m worried about doing it wrong, and therefore either wasting testosterone or causing myself more pain than there should be. - So because of those points, I’ve wondered if gel might be better for me? The hassle of doing it every single day isn’t appealing to me, but it’s painless and easy and much less scary. - Does Planned Parenthood have any restrictions on which method they’ll prescribe for you?
First Appointment - For those who have used PP for their T, what types of questions are they going to ask? - And what should I ask them? - How much does it all cost? Appointment prescription. My health insurance will not cover it. - Typically, are you able to pick up your prescription that same day of the first appointment? - I’m non-binary ( masc leaning obviously ). If I tell them that, is there a chance they’ll refuse to prescribe me T since I don’t consider myself to be a man, technically? Just a masculine androgynous person? - I’ve wondered if microdosing might be better for me as well, does PP provide that?
Any and all tips on these things ( or just T things in general ) are greatly appreciated!!
