Have you gone through the Lease Transfer process? I need advice!
Post Body

Holy crap y'all.

Lovely car but the customer service is a sub zero situation.

I started the lease transfer process for my one-year leased Model 3 which on the app said it would take 1 week. I did all my due diligence beforehand and researched what is needed. I found a lovely person willing to take over the lease. She applied the same day she saw the car.

Two days later we receive an email saying it will take 6-8 weeks for Tesla to get the PHYSICAL copy of the car's title and will continue the lease transfer after that. *screeching halt noise*

I fired email after email after voicemail after voicemail (of course you can't speak with anyone live) and asked 1. is there any way to expedite the process (CA DMV allows for rush processing of titles) and 2. is the woman approved and we're just waiting for the title to continue the process?

It's over a week later and 3 email replies and 1 voicemail reply and all they've said is a variation of "we'll get back to you once we have the title". I'm exasperated. Why does the physical title copy have ANY bearing on the eligibility of this woman to take over my lease!?! Why can't they just say "all looks great, she's approved, we'll finalize the paperwork once we have the title". I can't expect this poor woman to stick around for up to 2 months hoping she gets approved to take it over... But then again she's already paid the credit check fee.

Have any of you gone through this awful process and did you do anything different to get a straight answer from this crappy customer service?

Please advise :)
