picked up used 21 model y (issues?)
Post Body

hi guys, I just picked up a used 21 model Y RWD Standard range (37k miles) from Tesla last night! I am super excited but already have my service appointment set up, so upon inspecting last night not even in the morning yet. I noticed a few concerns.

Edit: This is California Tesla. Just thought this mattered when talking about the battery. 19 inch Gemini with wheel caps.

(Concerns with imperfection)

  1. Frunk makes squeaking noise when trying to close
  2. Telescoping makes squeaking and little cracking noise when telescoping inwards
  3. driver side seat squeaks when using seat adjustment
  4. On the rear seat, the ceiling liner where the panoramic roof meets the liner, it's sagging a lot and looks like it's about to fall off on the rear passenger side.
  5. Also the steering wheel leather is sagging.

(Concerns with electronic / battery issues)

  1. This one is my biggest concern, but when the battery is charged to 90% it says the estimated range is 190 miles? I realize this is a standard range and used but is this normal? (2021 / 37k miles) I haven't had a chance to charge it to 100% yet. But for 90% to be 190, that would mean the battery fully charged is 210 miles, instead of the advertised 244. So if I did the math right, is losing 34 miles in 3 years normal?
  2. When activating autopilot the car drives about an inch away from the driver's side line, leaving a much bigger gap on the passenger side car lane, I used to own a 2017 Model 3 before and I don't remember doing this. Sometimes it would even step on the car lane on the driver's side when autopilot is active. Maybe the camera is misaligned or something?

(small rant)

On the day of pick up, they told me the car was not up to their standards in washing so told me I can get the car tomorrow. Like cmon I just drove close to 2 hours (traffic hours) to get there and the car was not washed and was not charged (so had to wait about 40 more minutes to charge.) I did get word that they would credit me up to $200 as reimbursement upon getting the car detailed myself and providing them with the receipt. I did not want to deal with this next day so I just picked it up and drove it home.

I expected some imperfection such as paint chips and maybe a ding but I didn't think it would be this amount of issues. The Car is only 3 years old and when it comes to dealing with the interior, such as squeaking on the chair, and leather sagging, it felt like I was dealing with a car that was over 15 years old not 3 years old.

(conclusion)

I already have Tesla service set up today, not even 24 hours after picking up the used 21 Model Y.
