Good and bad of renting a Tesla
Post Body

I will never not rent a Tesla when I’m travelling again. Always having a nav, ability to use HOV lanes, free charging at the office/hotels, having the familiarity and power of driving my own car.

Bummers: I had to switch cars three times to get one with an j1772 adapter. I had no idea how much battery was charged when plugged in, no way to connect my phone to listen to my music and no easy way to clean up recently visited places.

It would have been such a magical experience to jump in the car, scan a QR code on my phone app and then tap the key one time for it to get ALL of my settings downloaded (I had to pull over to enable AP and set the car to hold instead of roll) including seat positions, mirrors and easy entry mode and then just remove the car from my app at return.

If they make it that easy I don’t see why Tesla owners won’t prefer to rent teslas whenever possible. Win win for everyone.
