I drive about 700 miles a week, and it was time for a “new to-me car.” I’m a very pragmatic person and try to save money where I can. A few years back I put in a solar system via Will Prowse (DIY Solar guy) and I have more power than I can use. So I figured I’d get an EV. I think I got pretty lucky with a M3 2023 RW SR. 2500mi on the odometer… for $27k.

My thoughts

-the standard range LFP battery can be charged to 100% giving me 270mi versus the long range at 360mi @ 80% = 288mi. To me, this is a no brainer… I’ll take the cheaper one any day.

-LFP has a longer life, and is safer to drive

-I haven’t experienced snow yet, but I will get the snow tires when the time comes, and I live in a place that only gets ridiculous a few times a year

-Maybe I’m lucky, but I’ve already put 10,000mi on my car and haven’t had a single issue. I charge overnight for free (thank you again Will). Zero maintenance… I haven’t spent a dime! (Except FSD) Unbelievable! FSD handles most of my commute… so much, packed into this car… and for relatively cheap.
