Is there a powertrain difference between the M3P and M3LR?

I just watched the video of Bjorn getting a spoiler out on his car and then being able to get a higher speed unlocked and that got me thinking.
- You can seriously just slap the spoiler on yourself and get the higher speed of the M3P? I know not the same acceleration.
- Like if I slapped a spoiler on my M3LR could I get those higher speeds?
- Does this mean that the M3P is really any different (apart from shocks, 20 inch wheels other cosmetic) to the M3LR?
