I'm sure this has been discussed hundreds of times here, but I can't see a post that applies to my situation.
My car breathed its last breath when I got stranded on my way to work this morning. The cost for repair is about $4k, which I definitely don't want to pay. I need a new car, and I need it soon.
Considering the price, I'd like to get a Model 3 RWD, since speed is not a concern for my use case. However, we live in Rhode Island and we get plenty of rain and some heavy snow. I was told that Teslas are more stable even with RWD in snow than other RWD cars. What is your experience? I'd probably have winter tires in the cold months.
The other alternative is Model Y AWD, which I'd very much like to get, but the price is a big concern, and I'd rather financially be safe than entertain my ego.
I've made calls for other cars -other than Teslas, but eventually these two came up to be the best options for me.
