In the US bicycle riders on the road have the same right to the road as cars and can take up as much of the road as they need legally. So I as a bicyclist will take up the whole damn lane.

I've been riding my bike to and from where I need to go for years now and have never been hit by a car. I bicyclist riding in the middle of the street doesn't lack common sense. A driver in a car does if they hit them. You can go around them and you can wait just because your in a car doesn't give you more rights to the road.
