Cactus/Agave

I can’t seem to find any answers through Google so I’m hoping someone here can offer some advice. I’m planning on starting a little desert terrarium. I have a small cactus and a small agave in separate pots but I want to add them both to the one pot in the same soil/ cactus soil/sand mix. However, I want to keep them both alive.
tldr: will my agave and cactus survive in the same soil/sand mix?
