Mass world demolition

Does anyone know if anyone has ever gotten rid of the entirety of a terraria world, and basically just made a bunch of floating islands for biomes?
Iām taking my time on a world (collecting every item, banner, trophy, etc) and was thinking about slowly doing this as I play.
I have a medium world, so this would quite literally take an eternity to do, but I think the final outcome would be something worth a public world download
