How long does it take projects to unlock when at 100%?

A few months ago, I researched the prerequisites for the Hybrid Fusion Drive (which is itself a prerequisite for the Icarus Drive, which I really need since the aliens are at total war). I allegedly have a 100% chance to unlock it, but I’ve waited a few months and I’ve got nothing. Meanwhile, other projects seem to unlock nearly instantly after I get the prerequisites.
Is there a different mean time to happen or something for each project? Or am I missing something?
