So obviously the James is Cameron. The creator.
But I had an idea today. What if we took inspiration from a couple other prolific writer/directors.
George A. Romero. It wouldn't be hard to draw similarities between a Terminator and a zombie. Both seemingly unstoppable and relentless. A Terminator film that draws from the zombie genre is a good match. It could bring back the horror that many of us have longed for.
For years now, the fan base has voiced it's desire to see more of a future war. Post apocalyptical. Which brings up another franchise. Something that doesn't immediately relate to what we know or have seen in a Terminator film. Yet, it could meld rather well. George Miller's Mad Max.
A hidden group of survivors in the desert.
Suddenly exposed and vulnerable to a group of infiltrators.
A lone man, (friend or foe) sets out to help them for his own profit. (They have something he wants)
I can picture scenes of terminators rising up from the sand, like zombies from a grave...
Or night scenes of dozens of red eyes in the dark...
Foot chase in a narrow canyon (think antelope canyon, Az)
Bring things out of the ruined cities and into the natural elements where the T's are in stark contrast to the environment around them.
