How are the healing classes for a new player? Is the leveling bad on them?

I played back during launch (Lancer), but quit a few months after that. I was thinking about leveling a healer, but I'm having a hard time choosing between Priest and Mystic. How is it to level them up? I figure groups are easier, but how many people are even grouping up at low levels anymore?
