So without getting into case specifics, I was found to be a victim of a crime that resulted in the other party's assets being taken by the state. Those assets were placed in a receivership, and my attorney is supposed to be paid from those funds.
Now the state is saying it may hold those funds for up to 6 years (Likely the other party will only serve 4 years).
So because my attorney may not get paid for 6 years, he wants me to pay now and wait on reimbursement from this fund.
Is there any help from the state here?
