My roof had a leak during the rain 3 weeks ago. My landlord called the roofing company which came and used some sort of sealant that was SO strong that I could barely sleep or breathe. It lasted that way for 7 days. I called him saying I have a medical condition (possibly Ms but I just said neurological) that is currently going on and I’m unsure what it is (true) and he was a bit nervous but mostly tried to explain that I wasn’t toxic etc.
Now there’s another leak. Tomorrow they’re coming back and I texted him that I don’t approve of any chemicals spraying etc without my consent ahead to not be here. Instead he called me and yelled at me saying I’m always a problem and that he had the right to do it because it’s on the exterior of the building (the roof) and I said that I alerted him I had a medical issue and that it’s not appropriate to spray toxic things when I just told him I had a medical condition. The sealant comes through the AC vents. He said they’re Probably going to come and put even more so it’s stronger! t’s insane that he wasn’t even going to let me know that it was done or if it’s done and I was going to come home from work with toxic fumes AGAIN. He was furious at me and losing his cool (as was I because he made me seem crazy) and at the end said, “just so you know this is turning me off major!!! O-F-F!! OFF. That’s all I’m going to say.” I’ve lived here for 7 years and he’s not a horrible landlord but he’s doesn’t treat me with respect because I’m the youngest in the building. My mom told me to stay on a hotel and send him the bill. He will of course lose it.
Am I in the wrong here?
