My landlord put a hand written note on my door asking me and my family to vacate his property for non payment of rent but we just paid rent. I asked him how much did I owe seeing as I had been dropped the money order off for rent weeks ago. He said he didn't know right off hand. I told him I could come up with some money and have it for him the next day he said he didn't want any money from me just wants me out . Well that triggered my husband to look over past receipts of rent.. Looks like my landlord has been F-ing us around adding latest fees and adding gas to the rent. Per move in gas was told it be taken care of by the landlord. Latest fees have never been charged. We have been here for 3yrs and have had no issues. Per a few texas laws we read up on he is in violation with a lot of them, no real lease everything is hand written, adding to so called lease which can't be done, that's just a few. I don't know what to do, husband wants to obtain a lawyer. Any advice anyone else ever delt with type landlord issues.
