I read many Reddit reviews before taking this trip and although I went into it confident I would have a good time, I thought I’d share my experience

ADMINISTRATION/ STAFF My boyfriend (32m) and I (27f) went to temptations for 7 days. We arrived around 10pm on a Thursday night and were immediately seen by staff to be checked in. he answered a lot of our questions. We were interested in upgrading our room to one with a jacuzzi and he was great in getting us information and offering a discount. As we had arrived late, we were starving. He also was helpful in pointing us in the direction of the buffet that was still open. The check in took about 30 min. When you check in prepare to provide a credit card or cash for a 400$ hold that is released at the end of your trip there’s also another small tax you have to pay. It’s calculated in pesos and converted into USD. So it will vary in price by day but we paid 30$ which is also able to be paid in cash. While we are on the topic of staff and administration the housekeepers and servers were some of the most friendly I’ve ever experienced. We went to the buffet one night and my boyfriend asked our server for guacamole because we didn’t see any. He was gone at least 10 min and i made the joke that maybe he was in the back peeling avacados. Lo and behold this man came back with freshly made guac for us In a bowl and brought over chips. He easily could’ve just told us there was no more and I think any reasonable person would’ve accepted that as an answer. I went up to grab a hot chocolate one day and stopped at the bar for baileys and the staff was setting up (the bar was not yet open) and he still provided it to me. Again, easily could’ve just let me know they were closed and any reasonable person could have accepted that answer. The staff are amazing. Quite accommodating and friendly. We checked out at 11:00am (we booked with Sunwing) and our shuttle wasn’t until 5:35 pm. When we checked out they removed our wrist bands. They will provide you with a white ticket for the remainder of your stay that you will show to the staff so they can service you. DO NOT LOSE IT OR GIVE IT TO ANY STAFF UNTIL YOURE READY TO LEAVE. following, the staff will stop you often if you try to access food drinks or even the beach without it. We went to the Starbucks across the street after checking out and were told we could get our ticket back when we came back which was not the case. We had to obtain a new ticket from the desk that had the wrong date and we ran into an issue getting back onto the resort from the beach later the same day. There are security on the beach and from what I could tell they don’t speak English so just be prepared for that in the event that you need them for anything. Google translate will be your best friend

FACILITY ROOMS AMMENITIES

the resort overall is quite clean. I am a little particular with my cutlery and plates cups ect but not once did I have an issue with that stuff. Rooms are well kept and overall the property is clean. Even beaches ect. The main pool seems to be clean to the eye but also keep in mind I’m sure peoples bodily fluids are being discharged in there regularly so I recommend a tumblr of some sort with a cover when on the pool because pool water in your drink is a no go. We visited the gym on 2 occasions while there and probably one of the better gyms I’ve seen for a resort. If the gym is your thing on vacation, you’ll appreciate a gym with working equipment and weights that are not broken or damaged. I saw a few signs on equipment that needed to be repaired which lets me know there is upkeep that is done on this stuff The gym is also staffed. Towels and fruit are provided at the entrance along with a water station. The staff member will walk through often so if you need anything just ask they’re super nice. The gym is small I will say that so don’t expect to get the same type of workout you get at home if you’re used to 2 hours workouts. It’s air conditioned however we spend about an hour in there the first day and the mirror were fogging up at one point and I’m not sure if it was the door being open or the amount of people but nonetheless still a great place to keep active on vacation. As I’m sure the same is the case in gyms everywhere, crocs are not allowed and they will send you away if you have them on. The restaurants we ate at are all quite nice, aesthetically pleasing, inviting environments ect. Plugs are normal 3 prong grounded plugs so don’t gotta worry about a plug adapter. The room is standard with a safe, hairdryer ect. I also think there’s an iron bit we didn’t use them with the exception of the safe. Ladies, the lighting in the bathroom is great for doing your makeup. There’s a makeup mirror with a light in the bathroom you can see your pores. There’s a gift shop on site that also sells things like Tylenol if you’re stubborn like me and don’t pack that stuff a bottle of regular Tylenol will run you about 23$ USD. Save yourself the tears and regret and pack it from home. I also recommend pedialyte.

FOOD AND DRINK

THE BOMB! my boyfriend and I are both pesceterian and I am allergic to shellfish. I had no issues finding stuff to eat. A lot of the food on the resort is “Americanized.’ You have your typically breakfast foods, there are also hot dogs, hamburgers, sushi, onion rings, mashed potatoes, chicken, beef, ect. A lot of nice salsas too! If you like spicy food add the salsas to your food you won’t regret it. If you don’t like spicy food, add the non spicy salsas to your food and you won’t regret it. The food was flavorful, well seasoned both at the buffet and the sit down restaurants. There’s a lot of raw appetizers at the sit down places so if you’re pesceterian and don’t like raw food you may have a hard time with apps.
If you have dietary restrictions have your server walk you through the menu they are very accommodating. I can’t speak for the vegans but based on what I could see you may have a harder time. If you aren’t sure if something has meat in it just ask. The signs on the food in the buffet don’t have a description on what’s in it. For example it might say ‘beans’ but not might have pork so just be aware of that. The sit down places are better with descriptions. Our favourite was the Italian restaurant the courses were really good and I think the cannoli was the best dessert I had when I was there. Try the coffee also very good we added baileys to ours and it was chefs kiss also a great way to start day drinking. While we’re on the topic of drinking, the drinks are strong and made well they don’t skimp on the alcohol. They will offer you tequila often. You have regular Johnnie walker casamigos blanco and repasado JB for whisky just to name a few but you have an ask for that liquor specifically otherwise they use a cheaper tequila. The fruit at breakfast was really good the melons were always sweet. There was papaya and guava also very fresh and sweet. We don’t typically get these things back home so if the same is for you you’ll appreciate that. Room service is available and you don’t have to pay extra for the food but gratuity is required for the service. Food cannot be taken from the buffet to the room or anywhere else. If you’re a late night muncher there’s normally a food section at the evening parties so you can get food there but the only thing available after that closes around 2am is room service.

CROWD AND ATMOSPHERE

The environment at temptations is very inclusive and diverse. I’ve seen a lot of questions on here that start with: I’m this weight or age or demographic will I be accepted? The answer is probably yes. Whether you are 20 or 70 there’s something for everyone. I saw so many fake tits and bbl’s but also alot of natural bodies and everything In between. All races, body types sexualities ect. Quite literally one of the most diverse environments. People are very respectful of others. If you are interested in swinging, there is likely opportunity to you just gotta put yourself out there. I recommend connecting with people on Reddit or other platforms and see if you guys are compatible. Can’t speak to how much of that was happening but public sex is also not permitted in public spaces. Meet for dinner or have a drink at the pool and chat. Alternatively, if you’re not into swinging, it’s also a really great place to simply just enjoy and also chat with other people. We had many random conversations with others at the pool and it’s just nice to learn about other people and the cities that they’re from. There will be room parties and if you’re comfortable you can attend those. We didn’t go to any and each one will be different. So use your judgement and be careful. Temptations does a great job with entertainment. The playmakers have games at the pool throughout the day and I found that they kept me engaged and entertained throughout my trip. If all this action isn’t your thing or you’re burnt out after the first few days check out the quiet pool. I know it gets a bad reputation but hear me out! It’s truly an amazing place to go for intimate and quiet time. Also a great place to go if you meet someone and want a quieter space to talk. There’s also a bar over there that’s naturally never busy so even consider stopping by for your drink before hitting the main pool. Swimming is not permitted in any of the pools at night with the exception of the neon party so consider the beach if that’s something you’re interested in however, it’s at your own risk. One of the downsides to staying at a party resort is if you’re like me and want to try to get some rest early one night you may have a hard time over the blaring music coming from the party that goes until 2am. We stayed in building 7 so I can’t speak for anyone else but that was definitely a downside and I’d suggest looking at other reviews of people who have stayed by the quiet pool to no see if it does help with the sound of the music coming in late at night.

If you guys have any questions drop a comment or send me a DM I’ll answer best I can. Hope this review helps someone!
