I will go with my partner [26/26] Some pros and cos or recommendation in general? We will be there at the end of January hoping to have a great time.
We'll be there mid June over our 26th anniversary. No better way to celebrate than watch the fun at the hot tub :-)
everyone we've ever met at Pearl or DRM have been wonderful. Sometimes the crowd at TTR is great and sometimes it just doesn't vibe.
We're going the first week of May. Can't wait to get back there!
Im barely scratching the surface here.
I typed up a whole thing about the differences and had to just cut it off because there's so much you can delve into
They are VERY different resorts. I've been to TTR 16 times over the last decade and DRM and Pearl a few times during that time.
TTR is an all-day party - loud music, sometimes sexually charged pool games, a big pool, a loud night club, reasonable food, decent gym, and a beach that can get crowded with people walking back and forth from other resorts to the marina. It is lifestyle-friendly but IT IS NOT a swinger's resort. Plenty of people go there because it isn't overly expensive and it is adults only in an area filled with family resorts. There's no nudity allowed and no public sex or fooling around allowed. It is tops-optional and maybe once in a while you'll get someone flashing the crowd during a pool game but security will shut it down really fast otherwise. There's people all over all the time since there are a number of places to eat, 3 pools, countless bars, and the strip with stores and such is right there. My wife and I walk a few miles down the beach and back up Hotel Row nightly before dinner. Singles, couples, groups - whatever your make up they don't care so long as you all fit in your rooms.
DRM is smaller, quieter, and everyone there is a couple instead of singles or groups like you might get at TTR. The pool is tiny in comparison. Nudity is common and the hot tub area has beds for public sex. The crowds almost migrate en masse because there are only a few places to eat and they are all next to each other (after the pool starts to slow, people go to dinner and then the show and then the night club and around midnight they head to the hot tub area). Sex at the pool/chairs isn't really allowed but I've seen it happen. It is a lifestyle/nudist resort and that can shock people if they aren't used to it. To be clear, that doesn't mean people just walk up and grab your junk or that people will proposition you, it just means a high percentage of the people there are LS or nudist, but there are plenty of vanilla folks there who just like being naked at the pool or beach. It is couples only and the current policy by the resort is that same-sex couples are not allowed. There are obviously ways around that. There are a couple months out of the year with LS events where couples can bring a 3rd.
DRM is quite a bit more expensive but you are paying for seclusion and obscenely great service. The best service possible at TTR is a normal day at DRM.
Exactly! We sometimes do TTR for 4 days and then DRM for 2-3 to close it out and it has worked great for years but this summer we are doing the whole week at DRM. Last year at TTR it just felt like I was constantly dealing with the crowd and that the sexy vibe was forced but at DRM it is just the normal state of things. We aren't LS but it is hard to beat the service and quality at DRM.
