Help a German HS exchange student stay in America?
Post Body

My family is hosting two foreign exchange students. Another one was temporarily dropped into our lap, and we could really use help. He's an awesome kid from Germany, super high achiever, but his two host family's were just not the right fit. He got sent to a West Side "Christian" school, even though he is a non religious Catholic, and frankly, the school's curricula was at the bottom of the barrel. The "textbook" on American literature didn't even include Mark Twain or John Steinbeck. So big ask: Can anyone in Metro PHX, preferably on the East Side, take him in? You don't need to have kids per se, although that helps. These kids are fairly self sufficient, but you would have to feed them. There is a stipend for that. There is an FBI background check and a home inspection. He's a really good kid, that through no fault of his own, is going to get sent back to Germany, if someone doesn't step up. We would gladly take him in, but he does need his own room, which we don't have with our two other exchange students. He is a super high achiever and got excited when he found out our daughter was in AP physics. He is very polite and respectful and he has a 6.9 golf handicap with an almost impeccable swing. Hosting a foreign exchange student has been such a wonderful thing for my family. You won't regret it.
Please, help my wife and I help Friedrich.
