so modern world, is closed permanently and for good?
Post Body

Yeah. Modern world. The adult bookstore at Apache and mcclintock. The one with the big back room filled with words I'm probably not allowed to say in the sub

I worked there for a few months a few years back. Really nasty disgusting place. I mean it just was. That's not to say anything about the lifestyle of the people that come in or the people that come in. It was just a run-down crapple. It was disgusting from years of being what it was. And the owner had way too high of expectations for the employees that she wanted to pay next to nothing to do while they were there sometimes fending for their lives at night.

It's right off the light rail. You guys know the area. Even though there's a police station across the street, that doesn't mean that some of the worst people in town didn't show up at 3 in the morning on Friday sometimes literally just to steal boxes of DVDs with no DVDs inside of them.

I remember one night in July a few years back it rained really bad and the whole entire back flooded. That was the best night I had to work there. I got to shut the whole place down and just push water out the back. It was great. Of course I smoked back then too so I had something to do while I was pushing all that water out.

Anyway, call me a prude. Call me a boomer. I don't care. I'm glad that crap hole is gone. Places like that should exist. They definitely should. But they probably shouldn't be where that one was. The area has grown up around it. And while I hate to see gentrification taking away small and older businesses. That place was a great example of one that I don't see too many sane people getting too upset about. Except for maybe the people that actually depended on it for a paycheck

But yeah. I'm glad it's gone. Lewis and Sonia and Robert and Matt and I forgot the old owner's name. You can all go to hell.

They treated working there like it was a damn cult. You work in a disgusting place full of degenerates and weird old creepy dudes who hang around in the back for like six and seven hours at a time hoping that some poor homeless boy from the light rail will walk in looking to make 20 bucks.

Sad thing is, that area is still going to suck.
