eth gas price and eth price - watching
Post Body

So, I'm busy watching ETH currently pumping over $3800, looking for a sign to shift some of my ETH into tel, then I looked at the gas price.

So, sure, when ETH pumps, the gas price can go up, but OMG, it's like 10x what it was just yesterday - average is $22, which is just nuts.

Yeah, this is my sign of addiction to this entire damn thing happening again - LOL.

I'm watching binance out of interest, how this all plays out - it is fascinating to watch those candles, at the same time as watching the sell prices shift.

$3900 is winning out over $4000 at the moment, but in the last 10 minutes of watching (yeah, I'm crazy), $4000 is gaining traction.

Looks like ETH is going to reach $3900 potentially, today.

The thing is, if you are doing a small trade - that gas price is a big problem.

I'm just wanting to shift a small amount of ETH into TEL - a tiny amount - like $300.

But with a gas price of $22 - and considering I'd have to first take the hit of getting ETH of binance and then another hit of getting it onto quickswap - there's no point, unless TEL seriously gets a boost from bitrue - it is ridiculously hard to do the math on this, with a moving target and such small amounts of money. My Kucoin account is fubar - I *hate* kucoin and since I joined so long ago and haven't logged in for years, there's now this trading password - and I need verification sorted, which can take days ... and did I mention how much I hate kucoin?

Just getting to a point of taking $300 of ETH and swapping to TEL, could potentially cost $40 - so, you get $260 of TEL. Then you have to try and work out gains, losses etc.

If you are shifting thousands, tens of thousands or more of ETH, it isn't that big a deal.

For small time trading, it's ridiculous.

So, then it's a case of trying to do the math of the current TEL price - again, a moving target - and the ETH price as it climbs and for small amounts, it STILL doesn't tally up because of the gas price.

It's the achilles heel of the ETH network, supposedly going to be resolved with the London upgrade and future upgrades - we'll see.

To me, it just looks like the gas price increases dramatically as ETH increases in price, which makes complete sense - supply and demand - the network is hot as a potato right now.

Exciting to watch.

Holding out for a $4000 sell and to pick it up at $3600 in a few hours - or see my ass. Probably the latter. But I can see it now, I somehow pull off this crazy switch, increase my ETH holdings, only to see that Tel has pumped to $0.045 - and shit, damn, how do I work this thing again - oh yeah, just don't try and play any markets...

Big time spender, me, $300 of ETH, watch out Elon, I'm coming for ya!

Mr. Danger zone, splashing down his 0.1 ETH whale fashion, goooooo me!

By the time I've figured all this out, it's too late, the market has moved and I may as well have just HODL onto that ETH.

Meh.

Why not convert the eth to a low gas/transaction fee coin? REN ? KuCoin accepts many coins. Find the one that has lowest fee. I did it with my btc I didn’t want to wait for all the authorization. REN was instant.
