Will a B&W tegu eat till its full or till its stomach ruptures?

I have a 2 year old black and white tegu(im.pretty sure female) that we adopted from someone rehoming her a few weeks ago. We are out of her normal food at the moment and I thawed out some smelt I had in the freezer to see if she would eat and she did...9 of them and still acting hungry. Shes maybe 12 inches long in the body not including her tail. I don't want to over feed and hurt her but I don't know how much they can handle. Please no judgment I'm new to this, I tried to find stuff online and it was all over the place and I just want to make sure if I over did it this time I'm not risking her health again by making the same mistake
