He has all the cell phones bugged with tracking devices and listening devices. Most believable thing ever and would explain him being out in the woods by the lake house to help catch a new beta he should know nothing about.
If this is true too I can just imagine some of the conversations he listens in on. He must have an endless supply of popcorn too cause some of the things these kids talk about is ridiculous and he has an app on his phone that lets him watch and listen through there.
