Hey, I'm a small indie developer. As someone that's been dealing with cancer herself, Techno's situation really resonated with me on a personal level, and it was heartbreaking hearing the news that he had passed on. I've always found his content to be entertaining,
Because of this, I thought it would be fitting to make some small tributes to him in the games I've been working on, but given the recent issues with the bootleg Technoblade stuff, I wanted to ask if what I had planned would be crossing any lines:
Basically, one of the spells I'm working on in this game, Petrify, has a rare chance of permanently turning enemies into artistic statues instead of just turning them to stone. These statues would mostly depict the in-game gods or historical individuals, and would show a small blurb of lore when clicked.
My thought was that one of the possible statues would be an armored figure with a pig-themed mask. Examining it would give the following text:
The fearsome foe has been molded by your magic into an Objet D'art! Where once there was a [monstername] now stands a brilliant statue of Tekano the Blade.
A master of both swords and plowshares, Tekano was a celebrated warrior and tactician in the lands of Esempi. His true ascent to glory, however, came during a great famine that struck his homeland, and the gods bestowed upon him the strength of a thousand men, which he used to turn barren battlefields into hectares of bountiful farmland. It's said that offering a tribute of potatoes to Tekano may grant one his strength and knowledge.
As an adventurer deep underground, you have found potatoes to be in disappointingly short supply.
It's a small easter egg, but I just wanted to make sure if there would be any issues with having a homage to Technoblade in the game.
