Post-recording rendering advice for mixes

Post Body

I've been mixing as Angel Between for a little over a year now, mostly hypnotic and hardgroove techno. I've recently started uploading some of my better mixes to Soundcloud, mostly to share with friends. So far I've been using a DDJ-FLX4 and using Quicktime to record on my mac with BlackHole. After recording a mix I've been uploading directly to SoundCloud without doing any post-recording rendering (e.g., my latest mix from today). But I've noticed the sound quality isn't the greatest and isn't as loud as I'd like, compared to the recorded mixes I listen to from other DJs.

My next goal is to record a high-quality set to share with promoters. What should I be doing to take my mixing and recording to the next level? What (ideally free) softwares are you using to edit/render your mixes after recording? And what does your workflow look like to prep a mix for uploading? Any tips would be super appreciated!
