I agreed to knit a hat for a friend. She bought the yarn online and a pattern online as well. There is one particular point that is confusing me. I am normally pretty good about making sense of patterns. But I am just not getting this. I posted in an online forum. I have contacted the retailer with an explanation of why I am stuck. They responded that there is no mistake and that I should go back to where the pattern was purchased. I have asked two friends, one says that the pattern looks fine and one friend thinks there's a mistake. Neither could help me get past my particular problem. There is no real close shop to go to and the one that is closest is pretty strict about not helping if you didn't purchase the yarn or the pattern from their shop. Now I am just stuck and frustrated.
Here are my questions:
Is it OK to ask for help on a purchased pattern here?
If so, can I just share photos specific to the directions and an explanation as to where I am stuck?
Updated info: Here is the link to the pattern: PTO-031_013
Here is the text specific to where I am struggling and the corresponding chart.
I believe I understand how to do Rows 1 and 2 per the directions and chart. Then the next step says knit rows 1-28. And this is where my mind starts racing. I just did rows 1 and 2, so do I start at row 3? And then when I get to row 9 what do I do? I wanted to just do the whole chart, but that is 20 stitches and I have 92 (2 edge ) stitches. Then I wondered if there needs to be the five stitches and the 10 stitch repeat but I question is it the same 10 stitch repeat?
I hope this makes sense. I am typically really good at figuring this stuff out! Thanks Friends!
