I've been with the BPO industry as Customer Service and Tech Support Rep for more than 5 years. Sobrang gusto ko ng kumalawa sa BPO and do something else that's either more technical and analytical, plus related sa course ko (I'm an undergrad of Computer Engineering btw).
After multiple job applications, this software company and their SVP really like me during our interviews and would like me to join them as their programmer with a basic salary of 45k (I'll try to share my career shift story in a separate post hehe)
The thing is, halos malapit lang yung inoffer nila sa previous salary ko sa recent BPO company ko (~43k package).
Reasonable po ba sa tingin niyo yung offer nila or it should be a bit more?
Honestly, I was expecting an offer na medyo mas mataas pa sana sa 45k as basic since taking into account na dun sa previous BPO company ko, may kasama pa siyang other allowances and twice a year bonuses. Kala ko maibibigay nila yung expected salary ko sana. Hopefully, bumawi sa allowances
Kaso sabi nga nila, pag career shifter ka, may chance pa nga na mas mababa pa sa previous ang magiging salary mo since considered as entry level ka ulit. Tama po ba?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about this. In any case, I will still look for side hustles or 2nd tech-related job that has flexitime para manageable yung oras
