Leaving mid-year - how to break up with my school?

Post Body

I've received a job offer for a position that is closer to home, pays much more, involves less work, is more fulfilling (working with teens in substance abuse recovery), and with an amazing company that prioritizes mental health. My colleagues that know about the offer are saying I'm crazy for even thinking about turning it down to stay in the stressful environment I'm in now and have been in for 6 years. Why am I hesitating?

Teachers who have left mid-year: how did you tell your admin? In-person, or written? How much notice did you give? How did you feel working while you knew you had an end date? I need some encouragement.
