I am certified to teach 7-12 Life Science in Texas and my schools wants me to teach two sections of IPC (Integrated Physics and Chemistry). Can they make me teach outside of my certication like this?

I am thinking this was a mistake and this principal assumed I had the composite certification so I emailed him explaing the issue with my certification. But if this was intentional could they actually make me teach this class?
