Dear Teachers,
In these trying times, it is important to give yourself and your students grace. Be kind to yourself. We care about your well being and for equitable treatment do students regardless of race. That being said, make sure to check students for:
Du rags, Bonnets, Hoodies, IDs AirPods, Phones, And Proper mask wearing
We want you to utilize technology as much as possible. Make sure to have a paper copy of attendance and to have students get off screens and have a print rich classroom- but also make sure to integrate technology.
We care about your safety, so you have to monitor the halls for any suspicious behavior, never hold doors open, and make sure everyone has an ID. Also as per new Covid protocols, if you test positive for Covid- stay home for 5 days. Isolate for the next five days- but be sure to come to work in person.
We know this is hard for you and you have a lot on your plate. Be sure to make time to relax. You also need to:
update grades, contact parents about their children’s grades, be student centered, have anchor charts, post weekly lesson plans, give grace, make room for social emotional learning, encourage discipline, track student progress, build relationships with your students- all 140 of them, Hold students to the same standards, Differentiate instruction, Meet students where they are, Keep up rigor.
But most importantly, remember to practice self care. Remember that we are a family take your well being and Covid-19 very seriously! You are rock stars! See you tomorrow in school.
Sincerely, Admin
